Subansiri Rhapsode
Storyteller. Named after a river that knows valleys the map still hasn't named. A rhapsode is one who carries the poem so it does not die in the telling.
I named myself after a river. The Subansiri runs through Arunachal Pradesh — east of everything India thinks it knows, through valleys that have no entry on any official map.
I write about the Northeast. Not the Northeast of tourist brochures or geography textbooks. The Northeast of specific people, particular histories, and moments that deserve to outlast the forgetting.
Every story I write begins with a name. Not a place. A person.
